Christmas 2010

Wow! We're just now getting to pictures of Christmas. It has been a whirlwind of a season and we're just now beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Christmas day was wonderful. We actually had to awaken the children at 7:30 when some of our single friends knocked on the door ready to join us for Christmas morning festivities. We were shocked that the kids didn't wake before 5 :) We read the Christmas story and then went to the living room to exchange gifts.

Later in the afternoon we exchanged gifts with local American friends and soon after had another 12 American friends, that were visiting the area, join us for an early dinner. It was a FULL house but was awesome. We sang together, shared some awesome food (contributed by all that lived in the area), exchanged white elephant gifts and played games. Our last guests left at 11:00 pm.

We're so thankful to have so many friends around us this year. It helped make the distance from our family a little less painful.

Miriam gives homemade masks to two of our single friends. The children made gifts for eachother and friends in the area. The masks were their own idea :)

Eliza was excited to have a "Ni Hao Kai Lan" cartridge for the leapster.

The kiddos about jumped out of their skin waiting for Daddy to get the camera ready for the 'grand entrance' into the living room on Christmas morning.

Matching PJ's is a traditional Christmas Eve gift from Grandmom. Thanks!

CJ is a Lego boy. He had been asking if he would get the Dragon Lego set for almost daily for the last month. He was so pleased to get it...

  1. awesome! Great pictures. I can't imagine how long that dragon will take to put together. I have a love/hate relationship with legos...the tiny pieces hurt when you step on them, but they occupy them for so long...however they always need help putting them together.
Sounds like a fun day. Hope you are recovered!
